CRP Check 1 - Veda Lab10 Tests

Cat. No. 34191-3L

Quantitative determination of C-Reactive Protein in whole blood

Sample:
Whole blood
Format:
Cassette
Overview:
C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is a non-specific, acute-phase reactant used to diagnose bacterial infectious disease and inflammatory disorders, such as acute rheumatic fever and rheumatoid arthritis (1, 2). CRP levels do not consistently rise with viral infections. CRP is an abnormal protein produced primarily by the liver during an acute inflammatory process (3). A positive test result indicates the presence, but not the cause, of an acute inflammatory reaction (4). The synthesis of CRP is initiated by antigen-immune complexes, bacteria, fungi, and trauma. The CRP test is a more sensitive and rapidly responding indicator than the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (5, 6) and could be helpful for an antibiotic treatment decision (7).

This test is also useful in evaluating patients with an acute myocardial infarction. The level of CRP correlates with peak levels of the MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase, but CRP peaks occur 1 to 3 days later. Failure of CRP to normalize may indicate ongoing damage to the heart tissue. Levels are not elevated in patients with angina.

CRP is classically measured using latex agglutination and nephelometric or turbidimetric methods. CRP-CHECK-1 is a rapid quantitative screening test for the detection of CRP in whole blood samples.

Depending on the CRP concentration, different lines will appear in the reading window, allowing the quantitative measurements of CRP in whole blood samples, when used in combination with the EASYREADER® or EASYREADER+® rapid test readers.

D-Dimer Check 110 Tests

Cat. No. 72051

Qualitative determination of D-Dimer in whole blood or citrated-plasma samples

Sample:
Whole Blood, Citrated-Plasma
Format:
Cassette
Overview:

Fibrinogen is one of the main proteins of the blood coagulation system. As a result of the blood coagulation, thrombin is activating fibrinogen into fibrin monomers which are leading to clots formation. Fibrin clots are then digested by plasmin and D-Dimer, which is the main and the smallest component of fibrin clots lysis, is released into the bloodstream. The presence of D-Dimer in blood samples is an indicator of various coagulation disorders, including deep venous thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE) and atherosclerosis. D-Dimer assay is a widely used and simple exclusion method of DVT and PE which does not, in addition, require any expensive laboratory instruments. In healthy individuals, D-Dimer concentration in blood is less than 400 – 500 ng/mL FEU (FEU: Fibrin Equivalent Unit).

Ferritin Check 1 - Veda Lab10 Tests

Cat. No. 25051

Quantitative determination of Ferritin in whole blood, serum or plasma samples

Sample:
Whole blood, serum or plasma samples
Format:
Cassette
Overview:
FRT-CHECK-1 test is a rapid quantitative assay for the detection of human FRT in serum, plasma or whole blood. The method employs a unique combination of monoclonal-dye conjugate and polyclonal solid phase antibodies to identify FRT in the test samples with a high degree of specificity.

As the test sample flows through the absorbent device, the labelled antibody-dye conjugate binds to the FRT forming an antibody-antigen complex. This complex binds to the FRT antibody in the positive reaction zone (T) and produces a pink- rose colour band.

In the absence of FRT, there is no line in the positive reaction zone (T). The reaction mixture continues flowing through the absorbent device past the reaction zone (T) and control zone(C). Unbound conjugate binds to the reagents in the control zone (C) producing a pink-rose colour band, demonstrating that the reagents are functioning correctly.

Specimen-dependent and costly invasive diagnostic methods include gastric or duodenal biopsy followed by urease testing (presumptive), culture, and/or histologic staining. Non-invasive techniques include the urea breath test, which requires expensive laboratory equipment and moderate radiation exposure, and serological methods.Individuals infected with H. pylori develop antibodies which correlate strongly with histologically confirmed H. pylori infection.

Information:

Assay Time: 10 – 20 minutes

Sample Type: Capillary, Whole Blood, Serum, Plasma

Clearview H. pylori (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a qualitative membrane based immunoassay for the detection of H. pylori antibodies in whole blood, serum, or plasma. In this test procedure, anti-human IgG is immobilized in the test line region of the test. When the specimen is added to the specimen well of the device, it mobilizes the H. pylori antigen coated particles and the mixture migrates chromatographically along the length of the test. If the specimen contains H. pylori antibodies these will complex with the H. pylori antigen coated particles and the immobilized anti-human IgG. A colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain H. pylori antibodies, a colored line will not appear in this region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region, indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.

HbA1C Check 1 - Veda Lab10 Tests

Quantitative determination of glycated haemoglobin in whole blood samples

Sample:
Whole blood
Format:
Cassette
Overview:
Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is formed in a non-enzymatic reaction by haemoglobin’s exposure to plasma glucose (1). The attachment of the glucose occurs continually over the entire lifespan of the red cell (average 100-120 days) and is directly proportional to the concentration of glucose in blood (2, 3). The HbA1c level therefore reflects the average concentration of glucose in the blood over the past 2-3 months.

It is the gold standard measure for establishing risk for complication in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes (4, 5) which is a growing global health disorder affecting about 400 millions people wordwide (6). The HbA1c concentration reported, either as a percentage of the total haemoglobin (NGSP) or in mmol/mol unit system (IFCC), provides a much better information of long term glycemic control than blood and urinary glucose direct measurements.

The HbA1c-CHECK-1 test is an innovative rapid lateral flow test designed to quickly provide accurate HbA1c values in whole blood samples. When the diluted whole blood sample is applied into the sample well of the cassette, a signal is measured by the instrument during migration as well as on the test zone and is converted into an HbA1c percentage value. The estimated average glucose (eAG) value will be displayed at the same time.
The control line appearance indicates that the test performed well.

One step rapid test for the detection of antibodies to HIV-1/HIV-2

Sample:
Whole, Capillary, Serum, Plasma
Format:
Cassette
Overview:

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is recognized as the etiologic agent of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The virus is transmitted by sexual contact, exposure to infected blood, certain body fluids or tissues, and from mother to fetus or child during the perinatal period. HIV-1 has been isolated from patients with AIDS and AIDS related complex, and from healthy persons with high potential risk of developing AIDS. Patients with HIV-2 are found primarily in parts of West Africa. Its course is marked by increasing levels of viral replication and the emergence of more virulent viral strains. This process causes the destruction of the immune system. HIV infection is staged by CD4 cell counts and clinical symptoms. Not all people progress through all “stages” and the time frames may also vary greatly from person to person. HIV-1 and HIV-2 are similar in their morphology, cell tropism, host interaction and generic structure. Serological studies have determined that HIV-1 and HIV-2 have multiple common epitopes in core antigens but much less so in the envelope antigens. This clinical diagnostic issues related to HIV are the detection of antibodies to HIV1/2 in human plasma or serum by immunoassay. Among the existing immunological method, the ELISA format and immunochromatographic format (rapid) to detect antibodies to HIV1/2 are available.

Information:

Assay Time: 5 – 20 minutes

Sample Type: Capillary, Whole Blood, Serum, Plasma

The SD BIOLINE HIV 1/2 3.0 test contains a membrane strip, which is precoated with recombinant HIV-1 capture antigen (gp41, p24) on test line 1 region and with recombinant HIV-2 capture antigen (gp36) on test line 2 region respectively. The recombinant HIV-1/2 antigen (gp41, p24 and gp36)- colloid gold conjugate and the sample move along the membrane chromatographically to the test region (T) and forms a visible line as the antigen- antibody-antigen gold particle complex forms with high degree of sensitivity and specificity. The Test line and control line in the result window have been clearly label : “1” for test line 1 and “2” for test line 2 and “C” for Control line. Both test line and control lines in the result window are not visible before applying any sample. The Control line is used for procedural control and should always appear if the test procedure is performed correctly. The SD BIOLINE HIV 1/2 3.0 kit is a rapid, qualitative test for the detection of antibodies to all isotypes (IgG, IgM, IgA) specific to HIV-1 and HIV-2 simultaneously in human serum, plasma or whole blood. The SD BIOLINE HIV 1/2 3.0 kit is intended for professional use, only for an initial screening test and reactive samples should be confirmed by a supplemental assay such as ELISA or Western Blot test.
